"What do I not know?" Master Bing could not help but question with a frown on his face. He really hated it when someone talked in circles with him instead of telling him what was the matter.

The mer sighed and stated, "Master Bing, I really pity you. You and your wife refused to follow your in-laws, and now your sister-in-law is working with Madam Yu at a big slaughterhouse. I heard that even a single pork hock from that slaughterhouse is sold for more than three taels. Do you even know how much money your sister in law is earning now? She is earning thousands of taels!"

Master Bing felt like he had been struck with lighting, he stumbled and almost dropped the vegetables that he was carrying in his hands. If not for the fact that the mer caught him, Master Bing would have fallen on the ground.

Thousand of taels? How much money was that!?

Seeing the expression on the face of Master Bing, the mer was secretly pleased. He was quite envious when he saw that Master Bing’s family earning money, now that he knew that Master Bing and his wife were not in any good condition, the mer was really happy.

"I...I need to go and cook for my daughter," though Master Bing was shocked after hearing the earnings of his sister-in-law, Eldest sister Chen, he did not say much to the mer. He pushed him away and thanked him for helping him before walking back home.

The mer watched Master Bing walk away with a pale complexion and spit on the ground.

"Cooking for your daughter, Pei! As if! You just want to go and bully your wife into getting back with your in-laws! Shameless bastard!" The mer snorted. He then turned to walk away with a sway of his waist, he needed to relay this matter to the rest of the village. If he did not then he wouldn’t be able to sit still!

Master Bing on the other hand rushed back to his house. He threw the basket of wild vegetables to his son and ordered, "Go and wash them. Once you are done make sure to chop them finely, your sister doesn’t like big pieces of vegetables in her soup."

It was only when she pushed Master Bing too much did he revealed that he had given all their family’s savings to his Daddy!

Which meant that they had nothing in their hands!

Two hundred taels of silver! That was two hundred taels of silver!

Master Bing turned quiet when he saw that his wife was angry with him. He blinked his eyes and retreated a bit further from Second Sister Chen as he was worried that she would hit him with the wooden log again.

"Di...did you talk with your elder sister?" Master Bing asked with a tentative voice.

He knew that he was in the wrong but what was he supposed to do? His sisters were supposed to get married and the mer whom his sister wanted to marry asked for a house. He couldn’t have possibly ignored his sisters in distress, right?

And since they had the money, it was only right for them to help his family.

Second Sister Chen was so angry upon hearing his question that she flung down the knife. She pushed herself off the wooden stole on which she was sitting and turned around. Second Sister Chen glared at Master Bing and questioned, "Do you think you have left enough face for me to talk to my sister?"
